SEIRS–SEI Transmission Model with Optimal Control
A calibrated human–mosquito malaria transmission model with ITN, IRS and treatment controls, solved for optimal intervention schedules.
Overview
Implemented and calibrated a compartmental SEIRS–SEI human–mosquito transmission model for Rwanda with three intervention controls: insecticide-treated nets (ITN), indoor residual spraying (IRS) and treatment. The model reaches a national fit error of 4.2 %. Optimal intervention schedules are derived by direct transcription of the optimal control problem.
Highlights
- National fit error of 4.2 %
- Three intervention controls: ITN, IRS and treatment
- Optimal schedules via direct transcription
- Mechanistic baseline for the hybrid Neural CDE approach
